Art Deco is one of my favorite styles of architecture, mostly due to the interaction of curved and straight forms. I recently had an opportunity to spend a day in Miami, Florida while my wife was in class. So, after dropping her off at FIU I traveled the Tamiami Trail and dropped down to 5th street to park and walk up Ocean Dr. It was early enough in the morning to beat the heavy traffic of tourists and the sunshine was great. Towards the north end of Ocean Dr, I captured this view of the Crescent and Hilton Resort. I love the "play" of rounded over-hang, cast shadow and palms.
